Announcement for reschedulement of BA/BE 2011 Symposium
Dear all,
First of all, we, the organizing committee of BA/BE2011 symposium, wish to express our deep sorrow on the tremendous loss of life and damage caused by the earthquake and tsunami attacked to northeast and east Japan on March 11, 2011.
Under the tragic situation in Japan, we have been struggling to find out the way to hold the Symposium in Japan. At present, as a possible period and place to conduct the same size of Symposium, we have reserved Kobe International Conference Center (Kobe, Hyogo) from June 29th - July 1st, 2011. Most of speakers and committee members intended to support this reschedulement of the Symposium.
However, considering the current situation in Japan, especially the horrible problems of nuclear reactors, it is still difficult to make a final decision for holding the Symposium. If we cannot ensure the safety of all participants, we should cancel the Symposium. This is our responsibility as an organizing committee.
We will announce our final decision to conduct / not conduct the Symposium in Kobe by the end of March. If the situation takes a good turn as you exclude safety concerns within this month, it is highly appreciated if you can make your schedule possible to participate in the Symposium in Kobe. However if not, please allow us to cancel or further postpone the Symposium. We will continuously update information according to the situation.
Although it is hard to predict how the social situation will be, we would like general registrants, including poster presenters, to keep the registration active. Also, we accept you to cancel your registration without any charges at any time.
We really appreciate it if you understand very difficult current situations. We are also deeply sorry to all of you for any inconveniences it may cause. If you need any help, we will do our best for you.

Dear participants of BA/BE 2011 symposium,
After the tragedy in Japan at March 11th, we have continued to discuss about the schedule of BA/BE symposium. We have already provided our first announcement on the web site that "the symposium will be held without any changes in schedule", because conference venue has no damages and still we have one month before the symposium.
However, as you may know, now we have another fear of risks, that is a trouble in nuclear reactors. For us, most important is to ensure the safety of all participants, we have started to reconsider the possibility to hold the symposium.
The final decision on the schedule of BA/BE symposium will be announced by the end of this week at the latest, because the situation of reactors is still unclear. Please wait for a while until we can get enough information to make a decision.
We really appreciate all your kind cooperation and apologize any inconveniences this might cause.

The symposium is held without any changes in schedule, since we ensured that the conference venue did not have any damages by the terrible earthquakes attacked at northeast and east Japan on March 11, 2011.
